Frequently asked questions

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do you take insurance?

We are a specialized out-of-network practice where our therapists work with you each visit one-on-one to find the true cause of your problem(s) and follow a plan of care that helps you progress back towards the activities you love. By removing our services from in-network insurance contracts, we do not have to limit the time or quality of treatment we provide because of insurance company restrictions. Our extensive experience means that we can usually treat your problem with fewer appointments. What you are paying for is our skilled, devoted, and professional expertise and time. We accept most forms of payment including cash, check, debit/credit cards, and FSA/HSA cards. Please contact our team to learn more about our fees.

For orthopedic services: We accept Medicare. We also can bill your insurance directly as an out-of-network provider — you may still pay out-of-pocket towards your deductible and/or pay a portion of the treatment fee. Please contact our team to learn more about your benefits.

Can I still get coverage from my insurance company?

Prior to your first scheduled appointment, call your insurance company to completely understand your physical therapy benefits for out-of-network providers. When you call your insurance company, they will ask you for the name of the physical therapist you plan to see. At the time of service and payment, you will receive a written statement (“superbill”) which you can submit to your insurance company for their consideration of reimbursement to you. The amount of reimbursement you receive will vary according to the terms of your insurance policy. We cannot make guarantees or estimates regarding what reimbursement your plan allows.

What makes you different from other physical therapy clinics?

Our team prioritizes your function and performance, while emphasizing the self-healing process and specific, individual needs. We take pride in listening to your concerns and apply a treatment program from day one that will give you the tools to make changes. With extensive education and training in many disciplines including orthopedics, pelvic health, breath-work, and fitness, we are confident that we have the appropriate resources to meet your needs. We strive to get you off the treatment table and back to your activities. We value collaborative treatment approaches, and will connect with your other healthcare providers to bring everyone on the same page for your desired goals.

How long will I be in PT for? How many sessions will it take to reach my goals?

There will be a wide range from one person to the next. Everyone has different goals and different life and injury scenarios. Most importantly, we will work with your schedule to find a treatment plan that works for you! The PT process generally involves time for determining the causes behind your symptoms/injuries, treatments to reduce the symptoms and resolve underlying causes, and reintegration of your desired goals and activities. Please don’t hesitate to contact us for a recommendation specific to you. For clients in orthopedic PT, clients are generally seen 1-3 times per week. For clients in pelvic health PT, clients are typically seen once per week.

What is the difference between an evaluation and a follow-up visit?
  • An evaluation is the first PT session where you will spend more time with your therapist unraveling the “whys” behind your problem and how you can start to address them.
  • A follow up session is any visit after the initial evaluation, and focuses on treating the “whys” and giving you progressions towards recovery.
I am coming for pelvic floor physical therapy, what should I expect?

During your first appointment, your therapist will spend time listening to your story and clarifying details that might seem “TMI” but give valuable information for your treatment plan. However, all sessions are always carried out to your treatment level. Internal pelvic floor examination via the vagina or rectum is likely depending on your situation, but again this will always depend on your comfort level and consent. You may choose to bring a partner or chaperone to your session. Please visit this blog for further details.

What should I wear for my appointment?

Please wear comfortable gym clothes that you can easily move around in (and maybe sweat!). It is preferred that those who identify as female wear a sports bra.

Our blog has a wealth of information that might be helpful in answering any further questions that you may have.  If you would like to schedule a free consultation, please fill out our discovery form or book an appointment online.
